t has been awhile since I've run FreeBSD so I thought I'd try the latest offering from the stable branch. This is FreeBSD 7.0 running KDE 3.5.8. I'm liking KDE a lot again:-) I set-up a dual boot with FreeBSD 7.0 on one of my Slackware 12.1 boxes. It is all good.

I took this shot at the Nitobe Memorial Garden in Vancouver, BC. This Zen garden is situated in my old alma mater, the University of British Columbia.

I formatted my old Slackware 12.1 box on Monday, decided to give Debian Lenny another look. Lenny is running surprisingly well on this ancient Plll 667 MHz IBM with 256 MB RAM. I'm still running Slackware 12.1 on my main work station:-)

hey all, I got stranded out of town away from my computer last night, so I will be doing it tonight instead. At 11:00pm CST the boards will go offline until the work is done.
Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for the heads-up, Dragon. I'll log-off later this afternoon:-)

This is interesting:-) I did an install of Gnome Slackbuild on one of my Slackware 12.1 boxes last night. GSB integrates nicely into Slackware without messing up your installation. All my other desktop environments still work. It has a package manager:-) I used Gslapt to update the install this morning. http://gnomeslackbuild.org/Edit added later: Regarding Gnome Slackbuild: the jury is still out for me. I've been running GSB now for 48 hours and I've encountered a bug or two. Sometimes when logging out or in using GDM the desktop crashes. Also, GDM doesn't play as nice with the other WMs as I initially thought it did. I will go back to running Slackware only on this unit. This was a fun experiment:-)
