a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0 Final is available!We have worked hard to be able to present the final version of a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0 now. It introduces exciting new features as follows.

Not just any scanners, but a combination of two world class products - the a-squared Anti-Spyware, and the Ikarus Anti-Virus engine. Latest tests approve that both are cutting edge in Malware detection.
• No doubling of the scan duration as it would be the case with two separate scanning programs. Considerable performance improvement is possible thanks to the integration of the two engines on the lowest level.
• No double price - two top security products at the price of one
What's new in a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0?• We have added a
second scan engine for the Scanner and onExecution Guard. The second engine comes from our partner, the famous Austrian antivirus company Ikarus, and is a pure antivirus engine. We expect much better detection rates with the dual engine mode. Compared with two standalone programs, the performance and memory usage of our bundled version is much better. The second engine will be added later in a-squared Free too.
• We have improved the a-squared scan engine: It loads 57% faster, uses 30% less RAM and scans 4% faster than v3.x.
• We have added all latest Malware-IDS features of Mamutu 1.7: Such as ability to block single behavior patterns without the need to shut down the alerted program completely.
• During the beta test we decided add a new
surf protection feature with this major release. It is able to block connection attempts to known dangerous hosts, like Malware hosts, advertising hosts, exploiting hosts, fraudulent hosts, hijacking hosts, phising hosts, warez hosts and other unclassified malicious hosts. The surf protection also includes a cookie blocker.
• The graphical user interface (GUI) has been refreshed completely. A new menu item for Logging has been added too.
• Beyond that, we've added tons of minor tweaks and improvements to create a better usability.
To get the new 4.0 version, you can download the new setup file from our download page or simply run an online update from the software. This release is free for all customers of previous versions with valid licenses.Note: a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0 supports Windows XP, 2003 Server, Vista and 2008 Server. It does no longer run on Windows 98, ME and 2000. For all users of outdated operating systems, we have created a special a-squared Anti-Malware 3.5 for 9x Edition that is available on our download page. Users have to uninstall their existing version and download the new 9x Edition. We'll maintain that edition for a while, but not add any new features.
